It's Levon Helm, and he's only the drummer from one of the great bands of all time, The Band. Not only that but he along with Rick Danko provided most of the lead vocals as well. You may know his voice from such Band classics as The Weight, Ophelia, Up On Cripple Creek and King Harvest (Will Surely Come). If you don't know him, you may want to check out some of these great albums:

Bob Dylan: Basement Tapes
Bob Dylan & Band: Before The Flood
The Band: Music From Big Pink
the Band: Rock Of Ages
The Band: Last Waltz

And many other releases.
Also there is some great behind the scenes footage of the band on the DVD Festival Express, which also features the Dead, Janis and Buddy Guy.
